Here you will find more information on the preservation process and the services we offer.

timeline + process

Due to availability and prep work involved, we suggest first reaching out at least one month prior to your event.

Once your flowers are received, they will be pressed for at least 8 weeks in order to ensure all moisture is removed. Once the flowers are removed from the press, we will reach out to confirm your frame and design choices. We will then arrange your frame using the best looking flowers produced and send you a photo of the proposed design before the final framing!

The entire process from pressing to finished frame typically takes 4-5 months. Please keep in mind that this can be impacted by a number of factors, such as busyness of the season, promptness of responding, revision requests, and number of items ordered. Each bouquet and frame is given many hours of attention, from carefully deconstructing and pressing each flower to reassembling them once dried. I promise you, you don't want this process rushed!

Keep in mind that if you are planning on including a photo, photographers often can take weeks or months to deliver your final gallery. We will hold onto your flowers until we receive the photo from you, and then will arrange your frame. This may add onto the timeline described above, but I promise it will be worth it!

care of flowers

During your event and prior to dropping them off, store your flowers with the stems in clean, cool water away from direct sun and heat. Since the flowers from your wedding bouquet tend to get the most damage (from being out of water for so long and having a great time with you at your wedding!), you can provide flowers from table arrangements as well or instead of your bouquet, as they spend the whole day in water and are generally left alone, and thus press more successfully! Please do not spray flowers with water prior to drop off/shipping, as wet petals will brown in the press.

types of flowers

There are certain flowers and colors that press best. However, that doesn’t mean other flowers can’t be pressed and reassembled! Please let us know prior to dropping off your flowers if you have questions about specific flowers, or if you know that a specific flower is going to be highlighted in your bouquet.

Remember: fresher flowers press better! The fresher the flowers when pressed, the better likelihood for color retention and less browning. Note that white flowers have the highest chance of browning, so if your bouquet has a lot of white flowers, don’t delay in dropping it off! Please also keep in mind that flowers sprayed with glitter or chemicals tend to brown when pressed.

Regardless of how fresh the flowers are, please remember that they are natural and organic, and many pressed flowers will not retain their exact color or shape as when they were fresh. Color fading and browning is natural for dried flowers, and may occur over the years, especially as we do not use any chemicals and only press using natural drying methods. Hang your frame in a spot out of direct sunlight or UV light to keep them looking the best longest! As each item is made custom with your flowers, each purchase is non-refundable.

dropping off your flowers

We are located on beautiful Lake Hopatcong, NJ and are so happy to be able to offer our services to the northern New Jersey area and beyond. Drop off arrangements for your flowers will be discussed during the planning process, and drop off should be planned within 1-3 days of your wedding for optimal freshness.

Flowers can also be shipped overnight! If you are interested in shipping your flowers, please reach out for more details and recommended methods. Note that shipping your bouquet to us is a cost we ask you to cover.

Once everything is completed, finished frames will be shipped at the client's expense. Local pickup may also be arranged based on availability, and we will discuss these options once the frames are ready!
